Poverty is a policy choice. New Jersey can choose to do better.

Cash benefit programs can be a lifeline for families, but traditional programs are weighed down by red tape and provide insufficient benefit amounts.

Across the state and across the country, Guaranteed Income pilots have broken down these barriers, and the results are clear: Putting cash in the hands of people who need it most immediately helps lift them out of poverty.

How can New Jersey learn from these pilots and start to think bigger?

Join New Jersey Policy Perspective and cohosts from Princeton University’s Bendheim-Thoman Center for Research on Child and Family Wellbeing and SPIA in NJ for a half-day summit that will explore Guaranteed Income as a concept, break down the key lessons from completed pilot programs, and envision how a statewide program could advance economic and racial justice for millions of New Jerseyans.
