NJPP Welcomes Tonanziht Aguas as Newest Policy Analyst

Trenton, NJ — New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP) is excited to welcome Tonanziht Aguas (toe-NAHN-see a-GOO-as) as the newest member of its research team. As Policy Analyst, Tonanziht will focus on advancing economic security and ensuring New Jersey families have the stability they need to thrive.

Tonanziht joins NJPP with a strong track record of research and policy experience in New Jersey and beyond. She previously served as a Research Fellow for a guaranteed income pilot program in Newark, where she studied the impact of direct cash assistance on families, and conducted research on food access challenges in northern New Jersey. Her prior work includes roles with the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, New America, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and Vivo Foundation.

“Tonanziht’s passion for economic justice and her deep experience in both research and implementation make her a tremendous asset to our team,” said NJPP Research Director Brittany Holom-Trundy. “Her work will play a critical role in shaping policy proposals that create a fairer, more equitable New Jersey.”

Tonanziht holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers University–Newark.
