After a successful three-month run as a contract analyst focusing on the New Jersey budget, former state treasurer David Rousseau has joined the staff of New Jersey Policy Perspective as a full-time Budget and Tax Analyst. In this role, he will continue to analyze the policy and process behind the state budget, in addition to studying some of the crucial long-term economic issues facing New Jersey.

“It would be difficult to find anyone who brings Dave Rousseau’s experience, knowledge, and plain good sense when it comes to tax and budget policy issues in New Jersey,” says NJPP president Gordon MacInnes. “We are blessed to have him join us full-time, just when New Jersey could use a dose of good sense.”

Rousseau has worked for more than 20 years on state budget and economic issues in both the Legislative and Executive branches; prior to his tenure as Treasurer, he served as Deputy Treasurer, as well as Director of Budget and Fiscal Analysis for the state Senate Democrats.
