Legalizing, Taxing Marijuana Could Mean $300 Million a Year for New Jersey

Legalizing marijuana in New Jersey could generate at least $300 million in annual tax revenue, according to a new policy report.

“The lessons from around the country are loud and clear: marijuana legalization makes fiscal sense, and it makes practical sense,” New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP) Policy Analyst Brandon McKoy, a coauthor of the report, said in a May 24 press release.
